So, Oak Park has too many pigeons in roosting in one place.

Solution: Turn on the heated sidewalks in the summer.

Well, it was either that or a Kentucky Fried Pigeon joke.

Take a bite of "Sidewalk BBQ"

Moms like it too!

I guess huge potato noses are kind of my trademark.

Ever since I was little I've been drawn to big noses.

Stand OP

Hey Hey!  Tough crowd in Oak Park.  Is this thing on?

This cartoon is driven primarily on timers and dispatching event alerts.  Keep watching.  He fidgets while waiting for you to pick a joke.  He shouts "Woah!" when you interrupt him.  The laughs are triggered at appropriate times.  Objects are created and destroyed constantly while you watch and play.  This file is a little hefty at 460k, from all the voices and sound effects.

So sit down for "Stand OP". And no, I'm not callin' it "Joke Park".

Ladies and gentlemen, thanks for coming and welcome to the show!  The next act starts real soon, so grab a seat and get comfortable.  Babs and Muriel will be around to take your drink order.

I wanted to finish this next one a lot earlier, but I kept adding new little features to the project. Stop already!

It's coming out shortly and it's well worth the ticket price.

Oak Pig

I think it's beyond ridiculous how much this town spends spends spends. Heated sidewalks all over the place. Next thing are streetside masseuses while you wait to cross Lake Street. Hmmm.....

As you can see, the pig cycles randomly thru a set of 3 eating sequences.  The two styles of projectile brick images are shot with varying height and speed.  And you physics geeks all know the force of gravity is the same for everything. When they hit the conveyor belt, they bounce a bit before coming to rest.  I didn't want any action to appear robotic or repetitive and I think I got a good, realistic-enough brick pile. Too funny.

Yes, that's me you hear, chewing.  But that's it.

Oak Pig!

My God! Another Bakery?

Mon Dieu! Combien de boulangeries? How many bakeries can this town sustain?

I drew a library of people, and a library of bakery buildings. The people are created on the screen at random, along with the random bakeries. When the user clicks "Add a Bakery" a random bakery building drops on the crowd. Splat! Har har har!

Tax Break!

With the new tax bills coming out soon, I wanted to catch some reactions from residents. Not a real deep message here, but it's kind of fun. I had a blast recording the voices. Some actually came out OK.

Again, more event-dispatching. When the user drags the tax bill to the door, it sets off a chain of animated sequences.

Throw Back the Big Ones

The Oak Park builder wrapped his fish in a blueprint in "I So Shame!".
But this image didn't make it into the cartoon because it was just too big.
It was pretty funny (to me) but it just cluttered up the scene, any way I used it.
